A liberal black man in the White House, Bama flirting with a national championship...
I hope someone's hiding all the sharp things in bobo's trailer.

What ignorant Bamar drivel! Undefeated ... undefeated ... ? Josh is this another feeble attempt to a$$ kiss your way into a job on air? I know that kissing Saban's a$$ is a prerequisite to working in the Bham media but NO one with any real sense thinks that a team with NO experienced QB can go undefeated in the SEC. By the way ... the inexperienced QB is also going to be playing with an inexperienced LT and NO proven RB. Only bo could look this bad.

But the real question is: Does the Heisman suddenly matter now? Cuz I've been told my whole life that it doesn't.

Ask the 75 other Heisman winners if it matters. Its something you nor I will ever be able to have a claim for. I dont care what you say the Heisman Trophy is the most distinguised award in sport.

Im right there with you. But like I said, as an Auburn Fan all I've heard from the other side is that the Heisman doesn't matter. Plus Bama fans are champions of the anti-ESPN Hype Machine. Well it worked out pretty well today, didn't it? Just funny when the show is on the other foot. IMO the Heisman became a joke in 1997. However I have no problem with the best player on the best team winning it. Plus I never said the Hesiman wasn't distinguished, I was just pointing out what's been told to me my whole life.

Any Bama fans that have said the Heisman doesnt matter are just ignorant retards. When did ESPN hype Mark Ingram? If anyone was hyped it was Suh.

No, the gumps were right. It was a popularity contest before, and it's still a popularity contest now. Just because they're in the club now doesn't change that.
Case Keenum throws for 5000 yards, 43 TDs and 9 Ints, and no invite.

Popularity contest? 6 weeks into the season Ingram wasnt on the Heisman radar. He earned his way into the discussion and won the Heisman on the field. Keenum didnt even win offensive player of the year in his own conference.
Who would you have given the award to?

Keenum won conference MVP.
"Won it on the field"? Did you even read Keenum's stats? Hell, Joe Webb passed for 2500 yards and rushed for another thousand.
Yes, you read me correctly: popularity contest. Don't pout, barry. Just be glad for Ingram. He's in the club now.

I have no reason to pout bama jr fan Alabama is playing for the national title and Mark Ingram won the Heisman. Had he not won it and Gerhart or McCoy won it I wouldnt be belly aching about it the way are for Keenum. There is a reason nobody from cusa gets invited to the Heisman ceremony and the conference champ plays in a bowl game not even worthy of discussing on the back page of the sports section.
Mark Ingram and Toby Gerhart would have rushed for 3000 yards in cusa. If Chris Todd was in an offense that threw the ball 50+ times a game in a league as weak as cusa he would have 5000yrds and 40+ tds
Dont get your feelings hurt... just accept cusa doesnt matter.

You're right about one thing, barry. You have no reason to pout. UA-T is indeed in the catbird seat, Ingram got his Hypeman, and soon you'll be playing Tejas for the sparkly football.
Yet, here you are, pouting because a fan of a school that doesn't matter in a conference that doesn't matter isn't prepared to bow down to your houndstoothed idol.
Oh, and referring to UAB as "bama jr" is funny, coming from a Samford alum.

Ingram deserved it, but if Tebow, Gerhart, Suh or McCoy had won it that would have been cool with me too. I've never seen a year where 5 players legitmately could have won it. I have absolutely no problem with the best player from the best team winning the award which is why Keenum didn't deserve it. You can't lose to UTEP & ECU & win the Heisman, I don't care if you throw for 6000 yards or not.

smaug - How dare you point out that a Bamar is not a UAT grad! H E L L 90% of Bamars never even went to college at all and 90% of the college grad Bamars never attended UAT. That's why Bamar paraphernalia is marketed right along side Rebel Flags, NASCAR crap, tank tops, flip-flops and chewing tobacco.
And ... by the way ... Saban is 0-1 vs UAB.

ECU was conference champion. Houston also went 3-0 against the Bc$ schools on their schedule, averaging 35 points per game. I know I'm wasting keystrokes here, but "the best player on the best team" is subjective as hell. If stats don't count then Suh should have won it. (At least among the nominees). Why has it been a popularity contest for time out of mind, and now suddenly, it isn't?
