I love early season College Basketball. So many good matchups.
How bout UAB? Nice show at Bartow last night. Better start than even Mike Anderson ever had.l

UAB has tooled up on a lot of lightweights to start the season, which isn't not something I'm complaining about. They have a lot of talent, but are still learning to play together. They don't play again for 12 days, and then host Cincinatti. We'll find something out about them then. UC is big and scary, typical Big East.
Did you make it to the game last night, Josh?

Blazers are playing smothering D. UC had 19 points at half, and 39 with 2 minutes to play.
At USA Saturday, and home against Butler Tuesday. If they win those two, they schould start showing up in a few top 25s. Or, they can just give them UC's spot.

Butler will be a great measuring stick. No reason not to contend in CUSA this year.

What a stretch for UAB: At USA, Butler, at UVA & then at Ark. South Ala is a classic trap game. I think they could punch their ticket by going 3-1 in this stretch.

Looks like you can easily say uab is the best in the state. bama and auburn stink... cornell and sam houston state? At least both Cornell & SHS made the Tourney last year. But yeah never should lose to those schools. Bama will be fine. Auburn is f**king awful.

It doesnt matter if they made the tourney or not. Like you said those are teams that the schools the calibur of Alabama and Auburn dont lose to.

The sNews is reporting there were less than 1K at Beard-Eaves for Sam Houston. How is Lebow still employed? He'll make thru the year & then get canned. His window was last year. Hopefully, though I doubt it, they go for someone legit & take this thing seriously. Lebo was a good hire though. Hot coaching property at the time with regional ties. Jeff Capel was runner up but the good ol boys didnt want a black guy (Turner Gill, Charlie Strong anyone). Capel would have been great. Lebo though has been looking to bail anyway & word is he was pretty bummed about not getting the Wake Forest gig when it was open a few years ago. I agree though there is NO excitement for that program so he needs to go. He brought in one of the best recruiting classes in Auburn Bball history this year so the next guy should reap the benefits if he's half competent.

Looks like you can easily say uab is the best in the state. bama and auburn stink... cornell and sam houston state? This is beginning to look like Davis' best coaching job to date. He's found some interesting players here and there, they're spreading the ball around, and smothering on D. Of course, having to cobble a team together was his own fault.

67-57, Dragons.
Two top25 wins, 4 top 100 RPI wins. 11-1. They should start showing up in some folks' polls, and I don't mean in the "also receiving votes" variety.
